The Bullet Club showed up and took out Roman Reigns, folowing last week’s beatdown of his cousins The Usos. The #1 contender’s tag team tournament continued this week as Enzo and Cass made their debut. We also got the first ‘official’ episode of the Ambrose Asylum. Oh, and a great main event between Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose. A good show overall.
Twitter, as always, reacted to Raw in different ways with differeng degrees of humour. Here I showcase the 5 best Twitter reactions to Raw last night:
5: Bullet Club-bed
Since Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows made their WWE debut on Raw last week, WWE have mentioned New Japan Pro Wrestling twice already. WWE, who are famous for not mentioning other promotions on their programming, have now also decided to continue the Bullet Club storyline from New Japan where AJ, Anderson and Gallows were all members.
@WWECreative_ish are back this week with this hilarious observation about their reaction to WWE continuing a New Japan storyline.
On a sidenote, WWE didn’t mention that Gallows and Anderson had sided with Kenny Omega when he dumped AJ out of the Bullet Club.
4: New Day Rocks
The sky is the limit for the New Day right now. They’ve never been a hotter act and most fans can’t get enough of them. Their recent face turn has only helped them reach new heights of popularity.
When The New Day come out nowadays its like theres a party on Raw for their segment. Fans are dancing in the crowd and fans are dancing at home. @WWEGraves tweeted earlier today that even he couldn’t protect himself from The New Days catchy theme and his hips gave in.
3: The Roman Empire is on hard times
Another night, another episode of ‘Roman gets booed out of the building’. WWE’s plan with Roman seems to be to get him to use the same promo over and over again. We get it Roman, you aren’t a good guy, you aren’t a bad guy, you’re just a bland guy.
With WWE seemingly desperate to get Roman over @TheMattFlowler hilariously pointed out on Twitter what the scene in the production truck must have been with them trying to get the camera on a Roman fan, but finding none. As Dusty Rhodes said years ago, hard times son, hard times.
2: Jericho, the self-aware heel
Chris Jericho entered the ring at the beginning of Raw to interfere in the Ambrose Asylum segment and to berate the crowd. After he enterted the ring to confront Shane, Kevin Owens, Samy Zayn and Dean Ambrose, Jericho said that the only one in the ring with any brains was Kevin Owens.
@KayfabeNews is back this week to delve a little deeper into Jericho’s words and as it turns out, Jericho just called himself an idiot too. How self-aware Chris, kudos. Next time when Jericho berates a crowd even though they chant his name, you now have your answer why; Jericho is a brainless person.
1: Forever ‘Heel’
Ric Flair was born to be a heel. For the last few months he’s done amazing work at getting Charlotte over at the top of the Women’s division. In the process he’s done everything possible to get the crowd to hate him from repeatedly helping Charlotte to cheat, forcefully kissing Becky Lynch during a match to distract her and costing Sasha Banks at WrestleMania. For months, he’s riled up fans to the level that we want someone to finally teach him a lesson.
@CageSideseats tweeted during the 8 woman tag-team match about their feelings about Flair right now, which are eerily similar to mine. When he finally gets knocked down a peg it’s going to be a big moment.
