In a genre dominated by games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Fortnite, the developers of Valorant have made their way to the top of the FPS games mountain. It just might be the strongest contender for the game of the year award, and rightfully so!

Valorant took the gaming community by storm when it introduced its creative take on a regular FPS game by adding abilities unique to each agent. The brilliance of this game also lies in how the maps are designed, keeping the utility of these abilities in mind.

Being an FPS game, Valorant requires players to have a good sense of aim. However, players who regularly manage to scrape out the maximum advantage through the wise use of these abilities also turn out to be the winners more often than not.

With the addition of various new agents from time to time, the developers, Riot Games, regularly put fans in awe of their creativity. The gun skins are also really cool and a hefty source of income for the publisher.

Valorant has managed to garner mass popularity, with Riot’s report stating that nearly 3 million players played it daily. With this massive number of players and the ever-increasing fan-following of the game, there has also been a surge in the number of YouTube channels consisting of ridiculously amazing Valorant gameplay.

While some belong to players who have the potential to be breakout stars in Valorant, others belong to those who have already turned pro and have played in big tournaments.

Here is a list of five players on YouTube that gamers should follow if they are looking to improve their gameplay, or even if they’re just fans of awesome content.

Top five Valorant YouTubers

#1 - Shroud

It had to be him!

Unless players are new to the world of FPS games, they must have heard of this insanely talented gamer, who goes by the gaming name Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek. He was a professional CS: GO player for Cloud9, the team that bagged the first position at the ESL Pro League Season 4, which was a CS: GO tournament for professionals.

After retiring from the shooter in 2018, Shroud became a full-time streamer at Twitch, the go-to place for gamers who love content. The Canadian has tried his hand at several games, Valorant being a recent addition.

The 26-year-old is known for his near-perfect aim. Add in a wise use of abilities, and Shroud becomes almost unbeatable in Valorant. He has experimented with various agents like Cypher and Sova but prefers Jett and Sage, making the most of abilities like Sage’s Barrier and Jett’s Cloudburst.

The Toronto native’s one-flick headshots are the stuff of legend. Valorant gamers can count on him to hold a site on his own and win matches even when the odds are ridiculously stacked against him. His game sense is legendary, and players can never say the game is lost for a team when Shroud is still in it.

Gamers must make sure to check out his insane gameplay on his YouTube channel, like the one above.

#2 - Average Jonas

Jonas “Average Jonas” Navarsete is the best Sova main in Valorant, and that is undisputed!

Average Jonas is downright insane. He is super-entertaining with his light-hearted brash talk, especially when he backs it up with his insane darts while playing with Sova. His skill in using shock darts and the recon bolt is unparalleled and sometimes feels almost unreal.

Average Jonas has a whopping 195k followers (possibly more when reading this) on Twitch, and his outstanding gameplay is a testament to this.

Once players analyze his play, they will notice his in-depth understanding of the maps. He exploits every little detail of each arena to his advantage. For example, in Ascent, he uses Recon Bolt through the upper grills in B-main, and then wall bangs and finishes off his opponent with an Odin.

Another example of his calculated play is the combination of two shock darts. Jonas gives the first dart enough height so that when he fires the second one, they both land simultaneously, giving the enemy no chance to escape. Gamers can also check out his shock dart guide for each bombsite of every map in Valorant.

Here is one of the most entertaining Valorant matches ever seen, featuring Average Jonas.

#3 - Unidaro

The toxicity that Unidaro can bring to the table through Viper is astounding, and hardly a few can rival his finesse in doing so.

What separates Unidaro from the rest of the Viper mains are his insane ‘Snake Bite’ lineups. Once the Spike is planted and Unidaro is alive, players can count on him to get the team through the round just with the help of his lineups. Unidaro usually combines the use of a ‘Poison Cloud’ and the ‘Snake Bite.’

Once the Spike is planted, Unidaro lays the foundation for a potential Poison Cloud when the enemies try to defuse the Spike and then complements it with the Snake Bite. As the visibility is significantly low inside a Poison Cloud, the opposing team’s players barge in it to defuse the Spike (also under the pressure of the time constraint) and lose a significant chunk of their health while trying to defuse it.

Snake Bites act like incendiary (commonly known as Molotovs in the gaming world), and sometimes they work as round-savers even if Viper is killed, due to Unidaro’s well-timed Snake Bites.

Viper is a very difficult character to master, and that is what makes Unidaro’s plays even more legendary. Gamers can check out one of his recent plays here.

#4 - Flights

Players cannot make it through a Flights gameplay video without using the term ‘Holy S*** ’ at least once, and that is still a massive understatement!

Flights makes players realize the unlimited potential of Raze, and especially the potential of the Blast Pack. Every player who plays this agent for the first time is left clueless about the Blast-Pack ability’s correct use. It takes a reasonable amount of time to discover the potential of any agent’s ability in Valorant, and Blast-Pack probably took longer than usual to be executed at its full potential. Flights, however, took the ball and ran with it.

He has redefined the way Raze can be played. The streamer uses insane Blast-Pack & Showstopper combos even in huge tournaments when he is playing for the team of the United Kingdom. He leaves his teammates, opposition, and even the viewers in awe of his incredible gameplay.

Gamers can check out his aggressive Raze plays here, and make sure to take notes if they are planning to be a Raze main.

#5 - Flexinja

This list is capped off by Flexinja, a player who has almost become synonymous with Omen!

A conversation about this agent can never be considered complete without a discussion, or rather an admiration about Flexinja’s unbelievable gameplay.

He is downright nasty with Omen. With his insane combination of Shrouded Steps with Paranoia/Dark Cover, the streamer can literally own the game. Add to this his near-perfect aim, and the opposition is left reeling more often than not.

A testament to his aim is that he is more likely to kill an enemy with a headshot than a body shot, and sometimes all that takes is a mere flick! It is just breathtaking to keep track of the number of Aces he manages to get in matches with Omen. It all seems too easy for him.

A key to his immense success with Omen is his astute game sense. Flexinja is so tactically sound that he manages to get multiple kills even through the smokes set up by him.

Here is a 2020 rewind, which is a collection of his best plays from the year.
