A match between the always excellent and a game (if he is indeed game) Brock Lesnar will undeniably be a delight at WrestleMania but I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if Rollins had chosen SmackDown Live’s WWE Champion Daniel Bryan instead, who would Brock Lesnar face?

I’ve given it some thought and I think there are five possible opponents for ‘The Beast Incarnate’ and his WWE Universal Title that might actually make for better matches for ‘Mania than Lesnar Vs. Rollins.
Let’s take a look at my five better opponents for Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania than Seth Rollins.
#5. Triple H
It looked like we were heading towards a Triple H Vs Batista match at WrestleMania following their confrontation at SmackDown Live’s 1,000th episode special. However Triple H suffered an injury at Crown Jewel and we haven’t heard from Batista since so that match seems to be dead on arrival.
So what does Triple H do at WrestleMania now that his almost fully recovered from his surgery? Try and win another world title of course! It might rankle some fans to see two part-timers in the main event of WrestleMania competing for a world title but it would undeniably be a huge match!
Perhaps it wouldn’t be as good a pure wrestling match as Lesnar Vs. Rollins would undoubtedly have been, but as a sheer spectacle it has every chance of being a highly entertaining spectacle put on by two legends in the business.
#4. Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman is not finished with Brock Lesnar yet after their last match was ruined by the interference of Baron Corbin, who struck Strowman with the title belt to give Lesnar the advantage before the bell had rung. Unfortunately ‘The Monster Among Men’ had to pull out of his chance to take on Lesnar one on one at the Royal Rumble due to injury so that ‘fair and square’ rematch is yet to happen.
Strowman seems to be firmly out of the title picture now, but it’s clear ever since the Triple Threat at last year’s Royal Rumble that the two have an incredible amount of animosity for each other and were they to clash again in a titanic final match at WrestleMania there’s every chance the slobber-knocker between the two big men will eclipse whatever Lesnar Vs. Rollins could have produced.
#3. The Rock
Okay, if you’re the WWE the biggest match you could probably book in this day and age is ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar Vs ‘The Great One’ Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson for the Universal Title at WrestleMania.
Incredibly at one point this was rumored to be something the WWE were hoping to do for this year’s WrestleMania and if they were able to make it happen it would 100% be a bigger, more interesting match than Lesnar Vs. Rollins.
It also sort of makes sense storyline-wise too as you can play on The Rocks relationship with longtime Lesnar nemesis Roman Reigns to build towards the match, and the big payoff at ‘Mania could involve Reigns in some way.
#2. Kurt Angle
Brock Lesnar ending The Undertaker’s streak was a monumental WrestleMania moment and effectively retired the Undertaker from WWE. Sure, ‘The Deadman’ has been back multiple times since then, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t an effective retirement at the time. So what if Lesnar retires another WWE Superstar he has a storied history with?
Kurt Angle is nearing the end of his wrestling career with the WWE and I can’t think of a better way for him to go out then wrestling against Brock Lesnar, a man he’s faced many times, for the Universal Title at WrestleMania.
Again, Seth Rollins Vs Brock Lesnar would be a much better wrestling match than this could ever hope to be, especially with Angle’s limited mobility in his neck, but the story could elevate it far above the Rollins match.
#1. Demon Finn Balor
If there’s one thing we learnt at Royal Rumble it’s that Finn Balor could, if the cards fall right for him, actually defeat ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar. Alas, on a different day he might have, and if he chose to call upon ‘The Demon’ for his Universal Title Match he might actually be Universal Champion now.
It’s that element of not knowing what the outcome would have been if we got Demon Finn Balor instead of normal Finn Balor that means we absolutely should get a rematch between the two. An element further compounded by Lesnar’s post-match beatdown of Finn Balor, meaning that on top of everything the first ever Universal Champion will now be out for a modicum of revenge as well!
